OFFICIAL MESSAGE AND OPINION OF BATA ON THE MIDDLE EAST

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
Dear Bulgarian Citizens,
In connection with the complicated and dynamically changing situation in the Middle East region, the
Bulgarian Association of Travel Agencies (BATA) expresses its deep concern about the security of Bulgarian tourists located in the territory of the affected countries.
BATA is closely monitoring the development of the situation through the official channels of international institutions, local partners and competent Bulgarian state authorities.
The safety of tourists is a fundamental and unchanging priority for the tourism sector.
Recommendations to Bulgarian tourists in the region
- To contact the Bulgarian diplomatic or consular representation in the relevant country immediately.
- To maintain constant contact with the tour operator or travel agency through which the trip was organized.
- To monitor official announcements of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria.
- To register in the "I am traveling for..." system of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, if they have not already done so.
- To avoid moving to risky areas, public gatherings and areas of increased tension.
Who to contact in case of evacuation
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) - 24-hour emergency hotline.
- The nearest Bulgarian embassy or consulate.
- The crisis centers of the local authorities in the respective country.
- The tour operator or travel agency, which maintains contact with partners on site.
When announcing an organized evacuation, actions should be coordinated
only through the official channels of the Bulgarian state.
BATA Position
The Bulgarian Association of Travel Agencies calls for calm, reason and strict compliance with the instructions of the competent institutions. At the moment, we recommend
refraining from new trips to areas with increased risk until the situation stabilizes.
The tourism industry in Bulgaria is working in close coordination with state institutions, international partners and airlines to ensure a timely response if necessary.
BATA expresses its solidarity with all affected citizens and assures Bulgarian tourists that the sector will continue to make every effort to protect their rights and security.
