Odysseus Spasov at the Bureau of the European Parliament in Bulgaria

Dear colleagues,

On 16 May 2025, the Chairman of BATA, Odisei Spasov, was personally invited by the European Parliament Liaison Office in Bulgaria to participate as a panelist in the discussion “EU in Action: Better Protection for Passengers, Clear Rules for Businesses.” This invitation is a significant recognition and honor for BATA.

The discussion was highly constructive and provided an opportunity to address and clarify a number of long-standing issues in the tourism sector, particularly those related to air and bus transport.

Other panel participants included:

  • Andrey Novakov – Member of the European Parliament, EPP

  • Bistra Markova – Bulgaria Air

  • Anelia Marinova – Civil Aviation Administration

  • Sonya Spasova – European Consumer Centre

Following the debate, the Chairman of BATA, Odisei Spasov, received an official letter of appreciation for BATA’s participation in the event.

Received letter:

Dear Mr. Spasov,

First of all, I would like to thank you on behalf of all colleagues at the European Parliament Liaison Office for your participation in Friday’s discussion “EU in Action: Better Protection for Passengers, Clear Rules for Businesses.” We are very pleased that, despite the bad weather and the transport strike, representatives of many interested parties attended the event and contributed to a meaningful and useful conversation.

We hope that the discussion helped those present in the room, as well as the online audience, to become better informed about the perspectives of all stakeholders affected by the upcoming changes, and that it will assist the rapporteur in taking these positions into account when preparing the texts that will be voted on in the European Parliament.
